As Administrative Officer, Joanne Dodd is supporting the development of QAS’s systems and workflow efficiency to make each and every audit a little more streamlined.

An experienced professional office administrator, Jo’s role has seen continual change since she first joined QAS in 2009. She has extensive experience in most aspects of audit, from bookings right through to finalisation and is known for her ability to multitask and keep both QAS’ auditors and clients organised throughout the entire audit process.

She also performs a key support role for Carrick Aland who share the same offices in Dalby.

Jo’s highly organised approach to her work has helped shape QAS’s range of services and modernised procedures to keep up to date with digital audit practices.

“I set up jobs, communicate with clients on raising quotes, audit procedures and fees and then work with our Audit Managers and Partners to get each job done,” says Jo. “Once audits are ready to start, I enter them onto our systems, allocate auditors, finalise, report and get the documents back to our clients – pretty much everything outside of ticking and bashing the numbers themselves.”

Keeping QAS’s auditors running smoothly is a key part of Jo’s everyday responsibilities.

Most recently she helped the business upgrade systems so the team could take advantage of working electronically and the benefits that brings.

“We had been paper-based and used to print, review and mark up paper copies when auditing but now everything is digital,” says Jo. “Our ability to deliver within our stated turnaround times with a tightknit team means we work well together across all levels.”

Jo even gets to turn her hand to internal staff training, but her most important role is spending time with her own young family as well as her extended family.

“QAS clients know me as their main point of contact on all phone and email enquiries, even some basic audit queries, so I know how each job is progressing at any given time. Being able to do that, now enhanced by better technology, means I get the personal satisfaction of a job well done.”
